Served as Chair of the Supreme Court's Judicial Education Committee; Pres. of the Washington Chapter of the American Judicature Society (2002-2004); Executive Committee of the Council on Public Legal Education. Appointed by Governor John Spellman in Aug. 1983 and elected in Sept.1983. General Jurisdiction judge hearing criminal and civil matters of unlimited jurisdiction. Ms. Ireland has served as Chair of the Board of TVW (State-wide public access television) Board Member of The Law Fund (indigent civil legal services), Vice-Chair Sheriff's Blue Ribbon Panel (seeking performance improvements in King County law enforcement) a Past-President and current Advisory Board Member of the Austin Foundation, (enriching the lives of at-risk youth through physical fitness) and Seattle No. 4 Rotary, Board of Directors.
